We Covered a Christmas Song...with Monica Martin!
Hey, everyone!
I'm fully aware that some of you are new here and probably have no idea that my husband Collin and I are musicians, and our musical project is called Wildernessa. Yes, our blog and our musical entity (I hesitate to call it a band, since it's just a duo) share a name. To some, they may see it as a confusing combo, but to others it just makes following all that we do that much easier and inclusive. Win win!
It's been a while since we've posted any new music, including covers, and I apologize. Today, however, we have a treat!
We began working on my fav ever Christmas song Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas sometime last week, and it coincided quite beautifully with our incredible friend Monica's visit to Nashville. She was here solely to work on music, and she's just so insanely talented. You may know her as a member of the band PHOX (who is doing a farewell tour which you can buy tickets to here), and that's kind of how we fell in love with her. Currently, she's working with our friend Jeremy on his musical venture, Violents. They have a record to be released sometime in 2017, I believe, so stay tuned!
Honestly, I could probably go on and on about Monica, but I'm planning on interviewing her for the podcast, so maybe I'll just save it until then.
You can also find our music on Spotify and iTunes if you like what you here. We've only released an EP, but we plan on continuing the process of making and releasing music as it is one of our purest joys in life.
Collin played all the instrumentation, though that goes without really mentioning. If you're interested in his string work, you can email him for a collab or his rates (collindupree@gmail.com)
