Cooking Up Memories with Samsung

Seriously, I cannot stress how grateful we are for our kitchen. It’s funny because I do change my mind about interiors rather frequently (hehe), but my kitchen vision was always so clear and I’m so very much in love with it. From the floating shelf, to the hardware, to the Samsung appliances — every piece has gone above and beyond to create our dream space. *This post is sponsored by Samsung Home Appliances, and the reviews and experiences are all my own

One of my favorite things to do during this time of isolation (and even before) is cook. Food is a huge passion of mine and one consistent piece of my journey since starting my blog in 2012. I dreamt of one day having a stainless steel refrigerator and matching range to make all of our dishes, ensuring they were cooked evenly and with ease. We were thrilled when we found our Samsung Large Capacity 3-Door French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel and matching Samsung Freestanding Electric Range in Stainless Steel before we even moved in. This was such a fun base for arranging our kitchen in a way that would flow and look sleek and sophisticated.

These days, I have the privilege of teaching ways of cooking to my oldest, Phoenix, who is obsessed with boiling water and pouring in pasta. The Rapid Boil and Fast Boil burners are incredible ways to facilitate efficient boiling water, making for an easier cooking experience with an easily distracted toddler — ha! We have a routine of pulling up a chair or a ladder for him and prepping our ingredients while the water is warming up. He loves to point out once the bubbles begin to form, and is quick to suggest salting the water. Sage, our 11-month-old, is never far behind, usually clawing at our feet or observing closely in his highchair while munching on snacks.

In addition to his obsession with cooking, Phoenix also loves that the two-drawer freezer is easily accessible for his favorite dessert — popsicles! He also loves gathering the frozen spinach and snagging the almond milk from the lower fridge shelf to make smoothies. The freezer is absolutely his favorite new discovery, and though we may have a lock on it (for those midnight attempts at melting all of our frozen goods when he explores the house), we try to encourage him to ask questions and stay curious about the food we eat. Bonus points for it being finger-print-proof!

I’m really passionate about getting the kiddos in the kitchen to see and help in preparing food. Not only is this an incredible memory-making experience for all of us, but it also helps establish an air of excitement and familiarity around food. When I feel like Phoenix is going through a more selective stage of eating, I usually suggest he helps me make some of his meals, and within a few attempts, he’s back to trying all the things!

Since we practice a lifestyle that incorporates multiple-times-a-day-cooking adventures, we trust our Samsung appliances with all of our food and cooking needs. We are so in love with the modern yet timeless looks of the range and refrigerator we chose, and can’t wait to see how many memories we will make in this kitchen together!
